WHAT WE DO:
The Yonkers Department of Finance and Management Services is responsible for accounting and financial services for the entire City. It is also responsible for the production of the City’s comprehensive annual financial report, as well as, a variety of other financial management reports. The department also has oversight over City investment programs and bond sales.
Additionally, the department includes the following units: Citywide Purchasing, Office Services, Parking & Code Enforcement, and Assessment.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Commissioner of Finance and Management is responsible for the overall financial management of the city. This includes the development, implementation and oversight of the City’s yearly budget as well as the long term financial plans. The commissioner assists the Mayor in all financial negotiations, making recommendations as needed. He/She is responsible for the review of all funding sources along with identifying any new sources that may available.
QUALIFICATIONS:
The following qualifications are preferred:

Master's Degree in Public or Business Administration, Accounting, Finance or a related field and seven (7) years of administrative financial experience, five (5) years of which must have been in a supervisory capacity; or

Bachelor's Degree in Public or Business Administration, Accounting, Finance or a related field and nine (9) years of experience as described in (A), five (5) year of which must have been in a supervisory capacity
