Position Description

SRC is currently seeking an experienced proposal manager with excellent written and oral communication skills to join the Technical Publications group in supporting the development of federal government proposals and technical documents. Responsibilities

* Collaborate with senior program and operations managers and peers in other organizations supporting the proposal process.
* Provide proposal team leadership to include coaching of team members, establishing schedules, facilitating strategy and theme sessions, ensuring RFP compliance, conducting status reviews and managing volume leads and writers throughout the proposal preparation process.
* Work with Capture Manager/Proposal Manager to identify proposal resource requirements.
* Perform many tasks under tight deadlines and maintain attention to detail
* Work with business development team to analyze request for proposals for customer requirements, develop win themes, create storyboard and red team reviews that ultimately produce quality, compliant proposals on-time and within budget
* Establish and drive dynamic proposal schedules, conduct lessons learned sessions and work to improve current proposal process by implementing best industry practices
* Design and develop capabilities statements, past performance descriptions, boilerplate copy and resumes for use in proposals
* Work with multiple cross-departmental proposal teams consisting of desktop publishers, graphic artists, contracts administrators, subject matter experts, engineers and executives
* Responsible for overseeing proposal production and final submission.
* Assist in developing policies, procedures, guidelines and standards for proposal management.
* Contribute to and implement ideas for improving efficiency of product delivery within the department

Position Requirements

* Possess a bachelor's degree in journalism, marketing communications or technical communications with a minimum of eight years experience
* Experience in proposal and project management preferred
* Understanding of the DoD and federal government procurement process and policies is preferred
* Strong, fundamental understanding of editing text and graphics for grammar, consistency, compliance and readability
* Knowledge of government contracting activity preferred
* Shipley training and knowledge of the proposal process is preferred
* Skilled in delivering quality documents to internal copy guide and/or AP Style, and maintaining corporate consistency across customer deliverables
* Professionalism and confidence to interface with senior management on projects
* Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
