Overview

Job Purpose

The Lead Business Analyst, Product Development is responsible for drafting business and functional requirements. The role designs and develops product reference data solutions that include managing and distributing data across several domains and to several external systems, including pricing, clearing, compliance and regulatory data. The Lead Business Analyst also coordinates the translation of business requirements to system requirements including functional specifications, use-cases and logical flow modeling. Serving as the requirements liaison for software development teams and operations groups, the Lead Business Analyst produces requirements and analysis artifacts and ensures the accuracy of the implementation against the product requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Work independently to create requirements and resource materials for our reference data systems that can accommodate wide range of product designs and downstream systems
  • Collect product requirements input from various groups-including front-end users and API consumers
  • Prepare documentation for data analysis and other procedures
  • Review data processes, build functional prototypes and execute test plans
  • Follow company software development processes and standards
  • Assist project management with prioritization and tracking the implementation of system requirements
  • Assist operations with incident resolution
  • Follow evolution of derivatives markets and remain business current
  • Study new technology and remain technically current

Knowledge and Experience

  • Bachelor degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Finance, Economics, Mathematics or similar
  • Experience with Energy, Commodity or Financials Futures and Option markets required
  • 4+ years' software product development, business analysis, quality assurance, or related experience
  • Must possess excellent written and oral communication skills; technical and functional business writing skills required
  • Detail-oriented with demonstrated ability to write unambiguous requirements that do not imply design; must be results-oriented and self-motivated
  • Ability to effectively facilitate requirements gathering sessions, reviews, and issue resolution involving multiple stakeholders
  • SQL experience required; ability to execute and refine database queries for data analysis
  • Firm understanding of relational databases and data modeling
  • Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio)-Strong Excel skills required
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment and meet daily deadlines
  • Must possess a good working knowledge of software testing and building high quality software

Schedule

This role offers work from home flexibility of up to 2 days per week.
